How is refined sugar not vegan? I do not use it, but wonder why vegans should question it. Please advise.
Good question, Dave! Some refined sugars are filtered through bone char. So while there are no animal byproducts in the actual sugar, animal byproducts are used in the processing. Check out this website for some good info on the subject: http://veganresource.com/vegan-sugar/
